Gigabit Voucher Scheme

We have some very recent and exciting news regarding the Government’s Gigabit Voucher Scheme, which is intended to help projects like ours.

Do you run a business from home?

The government Gigabit Scheme has recently changed and this means that we can apply in bulk for funding for the project and for householders/ businesses. As well as the government giving BARN money to spend on our project, they will also give them enough to give us £150 back once we sign up to the service. More information is on the B4RN website:

We need to know whether you run a business from home in order for us to apply for this funding.

Businesses that qualify include:
a) Your home address if you own holiday cottages ( the cottages are not a ‘business’ connection
b) Farms
c) If you ‘run’ a business from home which has no other fixed location and from which invoices are raised and your home is your business address.

We understand that HMRC may cross check to UTR records to confirm that you are a sole trader.
If you are not sure if you qualify as a business then please just let us know what you do and we will work it out!

Note that this scheme will involve householders receiving e-mails from HMRC at the appropriate time to confirm they have been connected.

If you haven’t yet told a committee member that you run a business from your property then please contact us or speak to a member of the Stainton B4RN committee.
